To ensure consistent battery quality across all devices, we are introducing standardized requirements for replacement batteries and minimum capacity for smartphones.
A battery can only be accepted as βnewβ if its cycle count does not exceed 20 cycles from 16.03.2026.
Every battery slowly wears down with each charge cycle (one full charge and discharge). By limiting new batteries to a maximum of 20 cycles, we ensure the battery is still practically unused and performs as customers expect from a new battery.
At the same time, 20 cycles are more than enough to properly test the battery and confirm it works correctly before the device is sold.
π Battery Capacity Requirements
We are also clarifying the minimum battery capacity requirements:
- Smartphones: β₯85% battery capacity
- Other devices: β₯80% battery capacity
- Premium Grade devices: β₯90% battery capacity
- Devices with a new battery: 100% capacity
π What You Need to Do
- Batteries listed as βnewβ must have β€20 charge cycles.
- Devices with batteries exceeding 20 cycles cannot be classified as having a new battery.
- Please verify the cycle count during your quality checks before listing.
π― Why It Matters
- Customers receive devices with truly new batteries
- Fewer battery-related support tickets and returns
- Higher overall customer satisfaction
