🔄 What's Changing
Apple AirPods (all models: 1st/2nd/3rd Gen, 4th Gen, Pro, and Max) are now classified as "Restricted Products" on refurbed. You may not list or sell them without prior written approval from refurbed.
📌 What You Need to Do
To request approval to sell Apple AirPods, email reporting@refurbed.com with the following information:

Approved Testing Software:
- Use only refurbed-approved software for testing (list available here)
- Attach a sample report or provider contract for verification

Proof of Authenticity:
- Submit at least one recent invoice proving stock purchase (supplier name can be anonymized)
- Serial numbers must be clearly visible on the invoice or attachment
- Refurbishment Process Details: provide a written description of your value-adding processes (e.g., cleaning, repairing, testing procedures).
- Packaging Standards: Share details about your packaging, labeling, and included accessories, include sample photos to showcase your visual standards.
🎯 Why It Matters
This policy has been implemented due to the high risk of counterfeit products in the market and to address higher defect rates. In 2024, AirPods showed a defect rate approximately 2.1 percentage points higher than the marketplace average. Implementing stricter controls will help ensure consistent quality standards, reduce the number of non-genuine products, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
